I wanted you to know that we had an apparent software problem with our “no go” tv so I was advised by Leisure Line to talk with your Takanini office. I had telephone contact with Steph on Monday and again today before we left Remuera for your Spartan Road address. Our daughter attempted on Monday to download from your website and while we were confident we had executed everything correctly it would seem we contribute to a “fail”. So, we stopped by today and within an hour we were on our way with your wonderful staff having achieved success in getting us suitably upgraded. The point of my note is to tell you how outstanding your staff were in looking after us. We enjoyed a lovely coffee and chat with folk from Palm Nth…we are from Wanganui and established we had a very close connection with friends of theirs. So, Daryl, take a bow for the excellent staff you have and we would again like you to thank them for us… it was a great business experience and you should be proud of them.

We just want to record publicly our appreciation of RSE in Takanini. We not only received great service from the RSE team last year, when unexpectedly needing to be in Auckland for a whole year, but again over these past couple of weeks. A malfunctioning DOMETIC fridge (RM2555) has plagued us from new. Until last week, when once again it failed on gas, enough was finally enough. Over the past 10 days RSE have been tireless in dealing with Dometic and finally getting it sorted for us. Thanks Oscar! Thanks Sue! You're Numero Uno!

I recently had a problem with my Southern Cross TV Satellite dish and after several attempts to remedy the problem I contacted RSE. We simply want to record our appreciation to Daryl & Sue Muir and their team at RSE in Takanini. Grey nomads that we are, we've been living full time in our Jayco and arrived in Auckland in January last year, for what was to be a 3 month stay. Other events overtook those plans and we've had an accidental whole year here in the big smoke. We've had the caravan in storage at RSE and we couldn't be more pleased with the support and service we've received. Before hitching up again this week, we treated ourselves to two new batteries and a new 32" TV - great service and support from Sam Hughes in the workshop, with the wagon all ready, checked out and ship-shape for our hitch up yesterday. High fives guys.

I had been having some issues with my satellite TV, involving difficulty in obtaining a signal and subsequent loss of picture. By prior arrangement I took my caravan to RSE. Their tech diagnosed my problem, a faulty HDMI cable, replaced the cable, performed a software update on my receiver and sent me on my way with no charge for the service. They even made me a coffee while I waited. Can't get better than that!

Hi Daryl,

I would like to thank you and your staff for fixing my SAT system and keeping my motorhome there while doing the repair.  The service you offer and deliver is truly above and beyond normal expectation, and for this, I thank you.

I would also like to place on record my thanks to Karen, for coming in on a Saturday so I could collect my vehicle.  In addition, her and her husband drove in front of me and guided me to the motorway on ramp near Drury, as there was a massive traffic jam on the highway, going south.  I spent nearly 30 minutes in it when I caught a taxi from the airport to RSE.

I cannot say enough positive things about the good service you deliver.

Great staff who give excellent customer service. Our motorhome needed to be repaired and no one else has the expertise in Auckland to repair our Truma boiler as the model is not common in NZ. This friendly team took the time to diagnose and repair our system. Thanks!





Motorhomer with "Television Reception from Hell"

We have had our motorhome for two years, spent enormous amount of money on a sky television service and technician work with new cables, LNB and decoders etc.  So when it looked like rain we would end up with rain fade.  When you have got a wife who likes her rugby it all spells a recipe for disaster, I need to do something about it.

I was told about "Rear Seat Entertainment".  On arriving we met the General Manager, Oscar Dickens.  Oscar listened to our problems, he said they could install a booster which may help the signal.  I was over it, no point in spending good money after bad.  Show me a new system.  After listening to Oscar's descriptions on the different types of receivers we chose a German model called "SamY".  Oscar, Mark 1 and 2 and the rest of the team worked their butts off installing our new system into our Spartan Winnebago motorhome.  When you turn the key to start your trip, the "SamY" dish automatic goes to its resting place, no winding the handle or forgetting to put the dish down.  We have put our new system to the test of watching television when there has been torrential stormy weather, it passed the test with flying colours, I could not believe it just so impressive.

I can recommend this team of professionals to anyone you would not be sorry, money well spent.  Go well Rear Seat Entertainment.

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone at RSE, your commitment to your customers is incredible.  Oscar came out and fitted a new entertainment unit and splitter box for us, he also looked at why our satellite system didn't work, and to think it was all beause we didn't have the correct remote.  We also had Oscar install another inverter for us at this time, with all the work he carried out he still managed to keep within our budget.

The standard of work carried out is very high and I would have no trouble recommending RSE to people.

If you are looking to buy a new TV for your motorhome or caravan, we highly recommend RSE. We bought our Kea Inspiration motorhome over a year ago.

Recently the TV picture died. We phoned RSE and spoke to Jess who was most helpful. We didn't have the warranty card but Jess said not to worry, she would sort it as the TV was less than 2 years old. We sent it to RSE in Auckland.
RSE received the TV, repaired it and we had it delivered to our door in no time.
We compare this wonderful customer care to our current trauma with Spark. Our telephone, which is brand new, has had a fault from the start. It is now on its third return for repair. They will not replace or refund until it has been for repair 3 times. The second time it went for repair, it was returned "no fault found". Any other company would have phoned us before returning.

Also when we first bought our motorhome we bought a pair of wireless headphones but couldn't figure out how to get them to work. We e-mailed RSE and they immediately replied with easy to follow instructions.

Recommendation of great service.  

I recently needed to update my old television in my Kea campervan to a more modern one.

I started at the RV Super Centre in Albany, Auckland.

They gave me very good direction and advise to make the best selection decision for my needs.

 I then purchased a model from the RSE range.. Thanks to the sales lady Suzanne.

I subsequently found I was in need of some checking of the connections of input cables from my Satellite dish and through into my campervan to my newly purchased television.

I made an appointment with the company RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment)

On arrival one the team members (Jess) started on my TV problems checking and program updating. Soon Daryl Muir,( Company Director)  arrived and went to great lengths to see all problems were resolved and replaced suspect fittings, refusing  payment for small fittings and the service time and effort which was great.

Not to mention the free tuition for the functions of the menu etc to get the very best use from my new TV/DVD.

Good service is great these days and I think should be recognised and passed onto other members to avail themselves to receive the very best class of service one could ever find.

Jess went out of her way to ensure we could get the problem sorted, uploaded new files to our old satellite receiver and magically all the satellite Freeview channels were there. When the satellite dish cables were sticking on the solar panel she got that attended to also.

Hi Jess,

After having a Majestic Dome for 6 years and a Karaka dish for 7 months, after installing your aerial (Winegard with Black Stik Shock Absorber) we can finally watch TV in any weather.

For the last 3 days at Matauri bay we have had non stop torrential rain and winds up to 90km, I have left the aerial up through it all without one instance of rainfade.

Our Thanks for such great follow up and service. First to Jess at Mystery Creek show coming to our Motorhome retuning the TV

then further retuning of the cam at  the Auckland  office, courier return to us all at no cost. (Just loved the golf carts girls saved so much walking.)

Then to Nella when the TV had to be sent to Auckland she kept us up to date daily with phone calls and nothing was to much trouble for her.

What a great team, and wonderful service from the company and staff.

Dear Daryl,

Just a note to say thank you very much for your help in resolving a problem we had with our Television set in the caravan at Coromandel last Tuesday.  The power cable had come out and I had managed to create a short circuit which blew a fuse located behind the covers in the switch box.

In my view you could have just referred us to an auto electrician but instead you chose to phone Leisureline, find out where the fuses were located and how to get to them and then call us back and talk us through the problem - after 5.00pm as well.

That is what I call going the extra mile.

This is the second time your organisation has helped us.  The previous time was in September when Sue sorted out our sky connection by sending us some software updates.

The service your firm has demonstrated has been fantastic and I can only applaud you and your staff for that wonderful effort.  I know it does not take a huge effort but the outcome is substantial.

Thank you all very much.  We were able to watch the one day matches against India which were great matches to watch as it turned out.

I have attached another bottle of wine of your choice which I hope you are able to enjoy if you are into wine.

 Just a brief note to thank you so much for the introduction to the SAMY Vision Automatic TV aerial system, and fitting to our motorhome.  What an amazing difference to the manual system we had before.

 The SAMY automatic system is just a dream to operate, in fact I don't get a chance now to operate; Annette does it all, just a press of a button and up it goes.  We get better reception by far even under trees and no sign of rain fade.

 No more aerial left up on departures as automatic retraction on starting engine "Amazing".  A very wise decision by two very untechnical people.

 This is I believe German innovative technology at its best.

Recently I managed to totally wipe the pre-set channels off a TV we purchased through Kea and having found RSE details on the back I made a call through to your offices.

Hi Daryl,

Many thanks for your assistance it is great to have a business go out of their way to fix problems.

The TV would not show any calabrition lines although it had a perfect picture. This made it difficult when you arrived at your site in a motorhome and you are looking for the strongest signal from your Sat dish. I rang RSE and Daryl said he would replace the whole TV. I was in Rotorua at the time looking after Grandchildren and we made a plan to meet Dwayne at Tirau and he swapped mine for another brand new TV, all is well again.

I must say that you came up with very good ideas on setting this product up. Great to talk to people with such passion for their products. I would recomend their products to other motorhomers. The TV is a great product being able to run on 12volt supply at a very low 2.8 amps and a built in Sat decoder and many other very useful devices built in.

We wish to acknowledge the excellent service we received from RSE (NZ) Ltd.

For a period of 12 months travelling around in our campervan, we had problems receiving Freeview TV through our portable satelite dish.

Daryl applied his expertise and wisdom and quickly identified three significant problems. We now have excellent TV and are very grateful to have found such personalised service. Daryl provided us with laminated nstructions and made sure that we could work the system. He also requested that we ring him if we experienced further TV problems.

We recommend that RSE (NZ) Ltd be contacted for your TV reception requirements. They are very aware of the future TV legislation changes and are importing some very advanced equipment to be used with these changes. Well worth checking out.

Dear Sue & Daryl,

We bought a flat screen TV from you about a year ago. Daryl explained how to use it and we've had good backup service over the phone on any technical enquiries.

Daryl came out to Massey at our request to demonstrate the Satellite Dish Kit and Set Top Box. I said I'd buy it if it would drive our old home TV set as well as the flat screen TV for the campervan. Daryl set all the gear up and it was compatible with our TV. He then asked me to go through the procedure to align the dish to receive the satellite signal and set up the TV set. He only left when he and I were completely satisfied I understood the whole system. I paid him by cheque there and then.

I have always had complete satisfaction when dealing with your company and would not hesitate to recommend RSE (NZ) Ltd to anyone. The Satellite Dish and Set Top Box performed really well.

My husband and I purchased from your company back in February, the dual rear seat entertainment DVD players with wireless headphones for our car. They have been a godsend! I recently travelled to the Bay of Plenty with my 2 sons (aged 7 and 4) which usually is a disaster as they get bored very quickly and constantly moan. They ended up watching 4 movies over the duration of the trip and I didn't hear a peep from them! The headphones were fantastic. I didn't have to listen to their movies but could listen to my CD's or radio instead. It was extremely easy to set up either in the car or to use anywhere else plus the remote control is fantastic. We both thoroughly recommend this system for any families who have children (young or old) - the system is now installed in our car fulltime and we use it everyday.
